Position Summary
This individual is responsible for administrative and supervisory work in Food Service Management. Work involves planning, organizing and directing of food service work at a Dining Services Retail location. Work involves assisting the Retail Dining Manager, for food quality and production, is performed under the direction of Retail Dining Manager, and is evaluated through observation and in terms of customer satisfaction.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
  • Extensive knowledge in operation of a food service with a diversified staff.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Special event planning and production.
  • Knowledge of food service sanitation.
  • Knowledge of health & safety requirements applicable to a large scale food service operation.
  • A basic knowledge of PC's and or food production software.
  • Ability to effectively supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to maintain a variety of operating & general records.
  • Knowledge of institutional or commercial Food Service management procedures & practices.
  • Knowledge of health & safety requirements applicable to a large scale food service operations.
Physical Demands
  • Move loads up to 50lbs.
  • Unloading and stocking products.
  • Perform push/pull activity with products weighing up to 30lbs.
  • Perform duties with repetitive motion of wrists, arm, and shoulder, possess hand and finger coordination.
  • Reach, climb, balance, crouch, twist, crawl, and kneel.
  • Work in noisy, hot/cold environments with chemicals, cleaning equipment, dust, fumes, and odors.
  • Work long hours standing.
