Summary

Applied Physics Technologies, Inc. (APT) is looking for an experienced Product Manager to join their team. This position has the option to work out of our facility in Hillsboro or McMinnville, Oregon, depending on the employee's preference. Travel may be required occasionally, as required, to other facilities, clients, or suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Management of sales activities including but not limited to, identifying opportunities, defining customer requirements, developing and presenting quotes, closing the sale.

  • Collaborate with customers through a strategic and consultative sales approach to understand both their current business needs and an accurate forecast of their needs for the following year.

  • Prepare and track blanket orders for customers.

  • Acquire and report on industry trends, emerging technologies, markets, and competitors.

  • Oversee capacity planning and work with supply chain to maintain product availability, taking lead times into account.

  • Work with production to determine lead times for quotes and forecasting.

  • Work with R&D Department to determine how to meet customers' needs.

  • Prepare and administer budget for the year, as well as capacity planning and forecasting for the following year.

  • Compile data to maintain and send reports that comply with policies of parent company and federal requirements.

  • Direct management of a small sales team with growth potential in the future.

  • Various tasks as needed to support the growth and success of a small company.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

  • 7+ years of industry experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a managerial capacity required.

  • Experience working within the microscopy, microanalysis, x-ray, or equivalent fields required.

  • Account manager or supply chain experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.

  • Detail oriented with a focus on quality, execution, and follow through.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group.
