*This position is hybrid and requires working from our Portland, OR area HQ 3 days per week.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Columbia Sportswear Finance teams oversee the financial health and forward strategy for a portfolio of four global brands. These teams exercise expertise across Accounting, Compliance, Credit, Financial Planning and Reporting, Tax, Treasury, Procurement and Strategy. Advancing traditional Finance & Accounting functions, the organization is also driving exciting innovation in the application of continuous improvement, advanced analytics, and automated intelligence.

As the SEC Reporting Manager you will lead a team of one and will be responsible for the preparation of financial statements, filing of Form 10-Q, 10-K and other SEC filings as needed, and providing review and support of earnings release and investor relations related materials.

HOWYOU'LLMAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Deliver accurate, compliant, and timely execution of accounting and reporting processes, financial closes, and related reporting for assigned areas and topics. Review financial statements, analyze periodic financial results, and assess & communicate financial risks and opportunities.

  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP and SEC requirements.

  • Manage preparation of certain aspects of materials to be presented to the audit committee of the board of directors and coordinate presentation topics with other departments, including Tax, Treasury, Finance, and Internal Audit, and the external auditors.

  • Drive continuous improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes impacting finance and accounting.

  • Work in a cross-functional and collaborative role spanning Operations, Corporate Finance, Legal, Tax, Treasury, HR, Shared Services Accounting, DTC Accounting, and Wholesale Accounting to align on company directives and assess their impact on financial reporting.

  • Stay up-to-date on external reporting trends and SEC rules.

  • Achieve SOX compliance. Maintain a comprehensive cross-functional internal control structure, actively monitoring controls for compliance and enhancing controls as business process improvements occur.

  • Liaison with internal and external auditors.

  • Lead, coach and inspire your direct reports to define and deliver annual goals and individual career development plans.

YOU ARE

  • Demonstrate strong financial accounting and reporting knowledge and understanding with very strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Skilled in problem solving, making decisions, being a self-starter and working effectively under pressure while meeting deadlines.

  • Possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment across a global organization.

  • Continuous improvement thinker, capable of identifying and delivering end-to-end process and technology improvement.

  • Flexible in your approach to delivering outputs that match the changing needs and priority shifts of leadership.

YOUHAVE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with 4+ years of public accounting experience

  • Applied knowledge of SEC reporting

  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles proficiency

  • CPA and related industry experience preferred
