JOB PROFILE
The Assistant Sales Manager is responsible for a variety of general administrative duties that support the Sales Department, including working directly with Caterpillar sales and finance programs. The Assistant Sales Manager will support a team of 5 Sales Managers in various tasks related to the sales process which will include assisting in day-to-day operations and contributing to the efficiency of the Sales department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Act as a point of contact for the sales department to internal departments and provide information and resources as requested
  • Assist in setting up new leads, contacts and projects and updating existing projects
  • Build and deliver reports to management and sales teams, based on expressed needs
  • Build, maintain and update KPI dashboards and reports for the entire department
  • Build, maintain and update templates for contracts and forms
  • Assist with organizing client proposals and tracking opportunities
  • Assist with sending contracts and agreements
  • Various other administrative assistant duties and sales admin support functions as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration and/or previous working experience in an Assistant Sales Manager or Supervisory role
  • Previous experience utilizing Sales Platforms (experience with AS400 is a big plus)
  • Must be proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • 2 plus years of administrative experience (experience supporting a Sales team is a big plus)
  • Manage all post sales related activity of the Sales Team
  • Act as administrative assistant to Sales Team or other designated management within the Sales Department
  • Ability to project a professional demeanor
  • Respond to sales inquiries via phone, email and in writing as directed by the Sales Team
  • Carry out administrative tasks such as data input, processing information, completing paperwork and filing documents
  • Speak with internal and external customers using clear and professional language
  • Ability to work under general direction, on multiple tasks with demanding timelines
  • Ability to work effectively with team members on varying levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated organization skills and attention to detail
