Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the safety and security of all employees and visitors to the facility.
  • One of the main deliverables of this role will be creating a culture of Operational Excellence. Our philosophy of Operational Excellence can be broadly defined as developing a culture of engagement and empowerment at all levels to achieve the goals of both Excelitas, and the Hillsboro site.. It requires the development of robust systems and a learning organization that can accomplish today's results while building a much greater long term capability.
  • As a Director of Operations, developing operational excellence will specifically require driving ownership of the site's goals within your entire team be it operational, technical, or other.
  • The role has direct oversight of all Manufacturing operations which includes order entry, production planning, assembly, test, shipping and receiving,, manufacturing engineering and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) is critical to success in this position.
  • The role has direct oversight of Supply Chain Management which entails the planning, procurement and sourcing of all materials for production. Inventory management is a critical component to the management of the business and cash flow.
  • The role has direct responsibility for all Quality functions and the sites Quality Management System focused on ensuring all employees adhere to our QMS and all products meet or exceed our quality expectations.
  • The role will have visibility throughout the organization and provide a challenging yet supportive environment to establish your brand of leadership and management style. It should also provide a foundation for your further growth and influence within the site.
  • In this position, you will be a member of Excelitas Hillsboro's Site Leadership Team
  • Along with your direct manufacturing operations duties, we would expect that you collaborate with the management team in setting long term direction for the site. We all succeed only when the company as a whole performs, so flexibility and a "company-wide" approach are necessary for your success in this role.
  • Responsible for reviewing, checking, and understanding EHS trends and taking appropriate action to fix any EHS issues and or address them to the appropriate party and resolve them in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a Technical discipline such as Manufacturing, Industrial, Chemical or Materials Engineering,
  • 10 Years' experience in leadership and/or managerial role in a manufacturing environment is a must.
  • MBA or MS is preferred.
  • Experience with Ultraviolet (UV) LED industrial curing a plus.

This position requires the use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)

Requirements
Primary responsibility will be the leadership of Excelitas' manufacturing operations team specializing in ultraviolet (UV) LED industrial curing. The position has oversight for Supply Chain & Logistics, Manufacturing, Quality, EHS and Continuous Improvement. This position will also serve as the primary leader on the site leadership team. Excelitas has one of the largest and most diverse optics manufacturing operations worldwide. In this role, the director is responsible for ensuring the operational success to meet today's needs while leading their team to develop the capabilities necessary to meet Excelitas' growth plan.
